” We bought a Memory Foam mattress in January this year. We tried a Tempur mattress recently in America and were keen to find out more about foam mattresses. I’ve had difficulty sleeping comfortably as my hips tend to seize up if I stay in one position too long. Consequently I have had to constantly change positions to alleviate stiffness or sleep on my back, both have been annoying for my husband. We bought a posturepedic mattress about 18 months ago but this did not help much. After trying both the Tempur and the Memory Foam mattresses we opted for a Memory Foam because I felt it moulded better to my hips.

After my first night’s sleep I woke up in exactly the same position (on my side) as when I went to sleep and needless to say it was the best sleep in many years, and I continue to have great sleeps.
The Memory Foam mattress has given me great relief from the stiffness in my hips, and totally reduces roll-together or other movement. I am loathe to sleep on anything else.

” We are really enjoying our memory foam mattress; it gives us both a great night sleep. The mattress also stays cool in the summer, which is great, as some memory foam mattresses can trap heat. Another benefit we have found is that there is virtually no partner disturbance as the foam absorbs all movement and sound unlike a spring mattress, which bounces. I can now go to bed as late as I like without waking my partner up! My back has also improved a lot since we got our memory foam mattress and a good flexi slat base. ” Lately I have been in the market for a new bed, after looking at many different shops here in Tauranga, from very specialized bed shops to Farmers and Harvey Norman, I learnt about ‘memory foam’. ” Back in 1993 due to an accident I injured my back and have since then suffered various degrees of back pains. My back is at it’s worst in the morning when I get up off the bed. I have tried various and numerous mattresses imaginable to get some relief; rock hard mattresses, soft mattresses, spring mattresses, orthopaedic mattresses, latex mattresses, I have even tried sleeping on a wooded board, to no avail.

It is then by chance I happened to look online and saw David and Karana’s listing. I contacted them and was pleasantly surprised when they asked me to try out their product. I got a lot more knowledgeable information from them and of course the warranty that comes along with their product. Since then I have purchased a Queen sized deluxe memory foam mattress and a pillow from them and am very happy with the product. I cannot claim that my back is absolutely fine in the morning, however, it is in a far better shape. Further, I am not sore all over, like with other mattresses.
The partner disturbance is minimal and my wife has grown very fond of the mattress.

” I just love my memory foam pillow! Recently I went to stay with my family for a few days and didn’t think to take it with me. After so many wonderful nights sleeping on it at home, it was an unpleasant reminder of how I used to spend half the night tossing and turning. No amount of plumping up the ‘top of the range’ expensive pillow could make it as comfortable as my memory foam one. I shan’t be making that mistake again. “A) Problem
My sister is largely confined to bed at present. She experienced great discomfort due to tumours on the spine and bone cancer and had great difficulty sleeping at night. We were desperate to find some relief as even the various pressure -point mattresses from the hospice did not resolve the problem.
B) Solution
(1) At home: We bought a single memory-foam topper to use on the electronic bed. David and Karana were very kind and knowing our situation, they provided immediate delivery. The topper pad provided a great deal of relief although of course, there was still pain.
(2) In hospital: Soon after the delivery, my sister was admitted to hospital. After a few days, the specialist agreed that it would be good to bring in our memory foam topper pad as the hospital bed was not comfortable (even with the special gel mattress they provided). It made a big difference.
(3) In the ambulance: When the ambulance brought my sister home, the staff thought it was a great idea to use the memory foam topper pad. We live in the country and the road can be quite bumpy. Using the memory-foam topper pad made a big difference – my sister experience much less discomfort on the trip home that had been the case before.
C) Conclusion
In conclusion, we love our memory-foam topper pad. It has delivered all the benefits that we had hoped. Even better, we have found that it is very portable, so can be used at home, in transit and (if required) in hospital. Sleep deprivation can be absolutely terrible, but we have found our memory-foam topper pad to be an important part of solving the problem. ”
